Overview: The Musical Fidelity M6 Series CD-DAC is a very
high-quality CD player and DAC. The M6 Series CD-DAC features a
top-quality CD tray-load mechanism with a true up-sampling 24-bit/192kHz
digital-to-analog converter. The M6 Series CD -DAC offers excellent musical,
sonic, and technical performance. The CD-DAC provides a virtually ruler-flat
frequency response (10-20,000Hz) with low distortion (0.003%), exceptional high
signal-to-noise ratio (117dB 'A'-weighted), and extremely low jitter (<135
picoseconds). Its sound is
smooth, dynamic, and inviting (without colorization). The Musical Fidelity M6
Series CD-DAC includes both analog (RCA/XLR) and digital (optical/coaxial)
outputs. In addition, the CD-DAC offers digital inputs (optical/coaxial/USB), so
it can be used an external high-quality DAC for your other digital audio
sources. An IR remote control is included for wireless operation.
Note: The M6 Series CD-DAC is designed to be partnered with the
Musical Fidelity M6 Series integrated amplifier (778M6IB,
sold separately). This combination yields high-fidelity, audiophile sound.
It can also be used with any home receiver or integrated amplifier which
features either an analog stereo (RCA) input or digital (optical/coaxial)

Tray-Load CD Mechanism: The Musical Fidelity M6 Series CD-DAC
features a tray-loading single CD mechanism which will accept 8 or 12cm discs.
Disc Compatibility: The Musical Fidelity M6 Series CD-DAC supports
playback of CD-Audio, and finalized CD-R or CD-RW discs. Your home-recorded
CD-R/RW discs should be recorded using the CD-DA standard.

24-bit/192k Up-Sampling DAC: The Musical Fidelity M6 Series
CD-DAC features a true up-sampling 24-bit/192kHz Delta-Sigma digital-to-analog converter in dual
differential mode (with 8x over-sampling) for precise stereo imaging and low
noise. The M6 Series CD-DAC provides a ruler-flat frequency response
(10Hz-20kHz) with low
noise, exceptional linearity (<0.1dB down to -96dB), excellent stereo separation, ultra-low distortion
(0.003%),
and incredibly low jitter (<135 picoseconds). The player's digital inputs allow
you to use the M6 Series CD-DAC as an external DAC for your other digital audio
components in your system.
High-Tech Digital Stream Noise Filter: The Musical Fidelity M6 Series
CD-DAC employs a unique high-tech, digital-stream noise filter which
contributes to its precise technical performance and musicality. This
proprietary filtering circuit gives immeasurably low jitter, noise, and
distortion artifacts - allowing astounding imaging, detail, and transparency. As
a result the M6 Series CD-DAC delivers all music types exactly as the artist
originally intended.
Low Jitter (< 135 picoseconds): Jitter blurs the timing information of
reproduced audio signals between your digital audio source and your amplifier
resulting in degraded audio quality. The Musical Fidelity M6 Series CD-DAC
virtually eliminates jitter by re-clocking the audio data from the compact disc
player and your connected digital audio sources to your home receiver or amplifier. As a result, your music sounds warmer, precise, and
more realistic - without the harshness and distortion caused from jitter.
5 Independent Power Supplies: The Musical Fidelity M6 Series CD-DAC
uses 5 independent power supplies for reliable and consistent audio performance.
Choke Filtration: The Musical Fidelity M6 Series CD-DAC utilizes
choke filtration on its AC input to reduce unwanted AC noise for more consistent
performance and outstanding reliability.
Controls
LCD: The Musical Fidelity M6 Series CD-DAC features an front-panel
LCD which can display total number tracks, total disc time, track number, and/or
elapsed playing time. The unit's LCD has 3 brightness settings.
Remote Control: The Musical Fidelity M6 Series CD-DAC includes an
IR remote control for wireless operation of the player.
Playback Modes: The Musical Fidelity M6 Series CD-DAC offers Intro,
Repeat, Random, and Program playback functions.
- Intro: This feature plays the first 10 second of each track on a
disc.
- Repeat: You can repeat an entire disc or a selected track.
- A/B: This function allows you to repeat a specific section of
track.
- Random: You can play back tracks in random order.
- Program: Your can program the order of selected tracks (up to 30)
on a disc.
Search Functions: The Musical Fidelity M6 Series CD-DAC offers
Skip, Search, and Direct playback functions.
- Direct: Using the remote's numeric keypad (0-9) you can select a

Balanced and Unbalanced Analog Outputs: The Music Fidelity
M6 Series CD-DAC is equipped with both balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) audio
outputs to connect your home receiver or amplifier. These audio outputs are
located on the rear-panel.
- Balanced XLR Outputs: The Music Fidelity M6 Series
CD-DAC features true balanced XLR analog audio outputs to connect high-end
home receivers and amplifiers. XLR is a higher-quality output that can
reject noise and interference with equipment with balanced inputs.
- Unbalanced RCA Outputs: The Musical Fidelity M6 Series CD-DAC is equipped
with a gold-plated, unbalanced stereo RCA output for connecting the player to
your home receiver or integrated amplifier.
Digital Outputs: The Musical Fidelity M6 Series CD-DAC is equipped
with an optical and coaxial digital input for connecting your home receiver or
integrated amplifier.
USB Port: The Musical Fidelity M6 Series CD-DAC features a
rear-panel USB (type-B) port for the connection of your Windows PC or Mac
computer, so you can listen to your stored compressed music files (CD, MP3, WMA,
WAV, AAC, FLAC) with high-quality sound. The M6 Series CD-DAC bypasses the DAC
in your computer and uses the 24-bit/19kHz internal digital-to-analog converter
found in the CD-DAC. The M6 Series CD-DAC lets your
compressed music files sound like your high-quality CD discs.
Note: The CD-DAC's USB (type-B) port supports Windows
98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista, and 7; as well as MAC OS X.
Digital Inputs: The Musical Fidelity M6 Series CD-DAC is
equipped with a pair of digital inputs so you can use the unit as an
external DAC for your other digital audio sources. The CD-DAC's optical and
coaxial digital inputs can be used to connect your DVD player, game system, or
other digital audio source. The M6 Series CD-DAC surpasses most
digital-to-analog convertors found in today's digital audio source devices.
