Overview: The Alpine VPX-B104R Visual Parking Assist Sensor System (VPASS) utilizes four OEM-grade ultrasonic reverse sensors for parking that are installed in the vehicle's rear bumper. When used in conjunction with a rear-view camera (sold separately), the VPASS system helps guide you (the driver) when backing into a parking space. When the parking space is viewed on your in-dash monitor (through optional rear-view camera), a three-color grid (red/yellow/green) is overlaid onto the lines of the parking space in nine zones (three each to the rear, rear left, and rear right). If an object is detected in any of the zones, the grid is highlighted and audible warnings are emitted. Precise distance measurements behind the vehicle are also displayed for additional peace-of-mind for you, the driver.

 Note: Never rely solely on the backup sensors; always look behind you before backing up. The sensors may not always detect people or animals in the path of your vehicle.

4 Backup Sensors: The Alpine VPX-B104R Visual Parking Assist Sensor System (VPASS) includes 4 backup sensors that detect large stationary objects behind your vehicle when maneuvering the vehicle in reverse at low speed. The backup sensors are installed along your vehicle's rear bumper (left-to-right).

Note: A 15/16" drill bit is required in order to mount the system's sensor units.

Buzzer: The Alpine VPX-B104R Visual Parking Assist Sensor System (VPASS) features a buzzer that is mounted inside your vehicle. The buzzer sounds an audible beep when the system detects an object behind you and your vehicle.

• Slow beep from 6' to 3'
• Fast beep from 3' to 1.5'
• Continuous beep from 1.5' to 0.7'

Visual Alerts: Multi-color parking guidelines (Red/Yellow/Green) appear on your connected monitor's screen (when using optional rear-view camera) to assist you in backing up your vehicle. Each line represents a distance:

• Green (No Message) from 6' to 3'
• Yellow (Caution) from 3' to 1.5'
• Red (Warning) beep from 1.5' to 0.7'
