Features

Overview: The SUPH1 home kit includes everything you need to connect the SIRIUS Sportster (item number 607SP4TK1 or 607SP5TK1) or the Stratus SV3 tuner (item number 607SV3) to your home audio system. The kit is compatible with the SP4, SP4R, SP3 and SP3B SIRIUS brand Plug & Play receivers, and it includes a mounting cradle, an AC power adapter, a stereo patch cord (mini-jack to RCA), and an antenna. The tuner docks firmly in the cradle, which provides connections for antenna, audio signal, and power. For the system to work, you'll need a subscription to SIRIUS Satellite Radio in addition to the Sportster tuner.

Antenna: The antenna is weather proof, giving you interior and exterior mounting options and features a hinged base for flexible positioning. There are four keyhole slots on the back for mounting.

Docking Station Spacer: If your receiver is a plug and play model other than the Sportster 3 or Sportster 4, you may need to install the spacer on the docking station to accommodate the unit.

SIRIUS Satellite Radio: SIRIUS Satellite Radio features more than 120 streams of original programming beamed coast-to-coast, including 65 streams of commercial-free, digital-quality music, and news, talk, sports, entertainment, and children's programming.

Note: Satellite radio service is available only within the continental United States. Service is not available in Alaska and Hawaii.

bought a sportster 5 radio for my wife's car at Christmas . She loved it wanted to listen to it at home. Knew of Crutchfield's reputation for excellent service. Purchased it received it in a middle of a snow storm, after a quick read of instructions, set up was no problem. Within 10 minutes had sirius radio at home, works great, wife was very happy, thank you Crutchfield.

This accessory kit work great with the Sportster 5. I play using the aux input
of my Bose Wave radio. I also bought the external home kit at the same time
believing I may need it because of fair to poor radio reception in my area. I
actually only needed to use the included indoor antenna. I placed it on top of
the kitchen cabinets next to a window. It picks up the signal very well. The
only problem I have found with reception is when using the microwave oven across
from the antenna. Only a minor problem. Have not had chance to install the
vehicle antenna adapter yet.

I bought a satellite radio for my father who is 84 year old. Fatherday, I was hoping to get him something different to listen to at home. Well you got me there, hook line and sinker ! It won't work in there house and I've called and spoke with the technical support and they told me I can return it. My dad wants me to install it in the car and I can't just say I bought it for you to listen in the house. The reason I bought it was to keep Mom and Dad off the road at there age.

I'd really been enjoying Sirius radio in my car and opted to purchase the SIRIUS SUPH1 Universal Home Kit. Installation was simple especially when you read the instructions about making sure the antenna has an unobstructed view of the sky/satellites just as stated in the website for the system. I used the signal strength meter on the radio to confirm where I should mount the antenna and when it was all said and done had the strongest signal possible without having to use the antenna extension cable. We really enjoy listening to all the oldies and the goodies. Great value. Thanks.

This dock is very similar to the car dock except it is designed to sit on a flat surface. It works, but it is so light that if you unplug your receiver the cords will pull it off the shelf. I had to secure the cords so this didn't happen every time. The antenna supplied is lame at best. If you live in the south and have your equipment on a north facing wall you will be fine. Set the antenna in the window and you are done. My equipment is on the south wall and there is no reception. I had to put it out doors on a pole about 15 feet from the house so that the antenna could see the northern sky over Michigan which is about where the satellite orbits. Oddly, my car antenna got fair reception while inside of the house. The antenna that comes with the home kit is also requires aiming unlike the car antenna. I was surprised at the difference. I will be upgrading to one of the outdoor antenna kits very soon so I can get rid of the pole in the middle of my backyard. Other than a weak antenna and a light dock, the product seems to work as expected. I just think they could have done a little better is all.

The helpful salesman at Crutchfield suggested this for our Sirius Starmate 4. It works great. The stand makes it easy to plug it in to our stereo and the antenna has excellent reception and ample cord to place it where it's needed. The stand needs a little more weight to keep the cords from pushing it around but that's my only complaint.

I live pretty far off in the county so it's hard to find a good spot to mount the antenna without having cables running everywhere. I was hoping to locate the antenna in a window, but now I think the only way is to mount it outside so there are no obstacles obstructing the signal. I'm giving this an average rating because the description leads you to believe setup is a breeze. Although my situation may be somewhat unique, I'm going to have to buy a wireless signal repeater and various other items to get this to finally work properly.

I bought the cradle after having the Sportster 4 installed in my automobile, so I could listen in my office. I was able to get a good signal by placing the antenna next to the window in my office. I connected the audio output to a pair of Bose MediaMate computer speakers, which in my opinion are an outstanding value and sound better than anything I have ever seen for their size and price. The dual inputs allow me to connect both my computer and the Sirius radio to it, then listen to both simultaneously. My only gripe about the Home Kit is that another remote is not provided. I wanted to leave one in the car and use another one in my office (to avoid having to move both the radio and the remote back and forth). I finally was able to order an extra remote. Anyway, the Sirius Sportster radio sounds great in my office played through the Bose speakers. Highly recommended.
