Our Product Research Team

At Crutchfield, you'll get detailed, accurate information that's hard to find elsewhere. That's because we have our own in-house Product Research team — they open the box, verify contents, check the owner's manual, and record dimensions, features and specs. We stay on top of new products and technologies to help people make informed choices.

Features

Woofers: The woofer cones are constructed of Carbon-PP (polypropylene) with a diamond array pattern.  The woofers feature butyl rubber surrounds for a smoother response and improved durability.

Tweeters: Each speaker uses a 3/4" Silk soft dome tweeter for smooth, accurate highs.

Adapter Ring: The included adapter ring expands the speaker's compatibility to include the 3-hole 6-3/4" patterns used by GM and Chrysler, the standard 3-hole 6-1/2" pattern, and Ford's 4-hole 6-1/2" pattern. Using the adapter ring adds 0.274" to the mounting height and subtracts 0.274" from the depth. Given the 4.916" cutout required, the speakers will also fit in standard 6-1/2" openings without the adapter ring, but new screw holes must be drilled.

Warranty Note: Although these speakers come with a 1-year warranty card, they are covered by the Kenwood Excelon 2-year warranty.
