Yes | No 5 out of 5 Amazing speakers, no Bass Written By Anonymous, San Jose, CA on Monday, August 20, 2012 Installed in a 2000 Toyota Corolla Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) To start, these have nearly no bass. However the mid and highs are reproduced with amazing clarity with no distortion even at high volumes. I was particularly impressed with the high end where I find most speakers have a distorted sound. Not these, the highs all the way up to the highest frequencies are very clear. They are so clear that you can easily hear how bad SiriusXM actually sounds and hear the difference between low and higher bit rate encoded MP3s. But when you put in a 256kbps MP3 or a CD, these speakers shine and show off the clear reproduction of music. I got these for the front doors because they were the largest coaxial that would fit without going with component. In retrospect I would have gone with the Alpine SPR-60C (potentially the SPS-610C would also be an improvement) and dealt with the component tweeters to match the Alpine SPR-60 (that has decent bass) that I installed in the back. In fact, I may end up upgrading to when I can afford it and include the Alpine KTP-445U "Power Pack" amp. Also I am running off the Alpine head unit power, no Amp. These sound better at high volume so clearly the amount of power is a factor. I assume with even a modest amp these would sound that much better. So they sound awesome, but go with 6-3/4" if you can, and the SPR-60 if you can afford it. Pros: Clear high quality distortion free mids and highs Inexpensive Cons: Almost no bass (as I expected) 2 out of 2 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? I reinstalled the stock speakers and the improvement in sound was not subtle. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 5 out of 5 Alpine SPS-510 speaker Written By Percy, Colorado Springs, CO on Wednesday, April 04, 2012 Installed in a 1998 Chevrolet K Series Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I installed these speakers in my 1998 Chevy Silverado Extended Cab to go with the Alpine CDE-124SXM deck and Alpine KTP-445 powerpack. The difference in sound between the stock speakers and the SPS-510s is like night and day. The highs are crisp and clear and the bass is deep enough for my liking. I can't say that the installation was easy, but it was not rocket science. The door panel removal tools are a definite need for this job. The instructions were clear and concise, but it would be really nice if the Crutchfield team put together a YouTube video. Pros: Excellent sound for the price. Cons: None. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 5 out of 5 Alpine speakers in a Jeep Written By JP, Boston, ma on Saturday, March 03, 2012 Installed in a 1998 Jeep Wrangler Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) My 98 Wrangler had stock audio throughout until I swapped the stock speakers for these Alpines. Of course, I was skeptical because the Jeep has the acoustic quality of a cereal box in a wind tunnel. (how much difference could there really be?)... A world of difference! I matched the speakers with a 133bt head unit .... Again skeptical..... But again pleasantly surprised. No dropped calls and real clarity in hearing the spoken word and in the reproduction of each possible modality....iPod, pandora over my Android, and CDs too. Pros: Clarity... Reasonably good quality bass and reproduction across the rest of the spectrum. These are a huge upgrade over stock at a reasonable price. I listen to a range of music and talk and these fit my needs perfectly.... And I can hear subtleties even in the wind and over road rumble. Cons: No cons really.... If you are a kid looking for bass bump, you may want more, but that's the stuff of amplifiers and subwoofers..... These are very good speakers, but won't deliver in hat way. 8 out of 8 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Installed them into my 03 Subaru WRX. Install was a breeze and they sound nice! Yes these aren't the biggest speakers I could put in, but my wallet is also not the biggest. Pretty good back for you buck. Crutchfield included spacers and speaker adapters to work with my stock speaker plugs so that was good. Problem was that I knew for a fact that the speaker spacers wouldnt work too well. Instead I picked up a front/rear speaker spacer combo from IA Performance. This allowed me to instal the 5 1/4 speakers into a 4inch space AND they gave me necessary clips/plugs to securely remount my door panels to accommodate bigger speakers. Same with the front, thicker spacer from IA performance allowed door card to mount properly and have proper clearance. The other upgrades left for my audio is to get a subwoofer(s)/enclosure/amp. Pros: Buy one get one half off. Definitely better than factory speakers. Easy to install. Great Crutchfield instructions and install kit Cons: Wish for a bit more bass. but whenever I get the sub it will take care of that problem 2 out of 2 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? 5 out of 5 Alpine SPS-510 speaker Written By Percy, Colorado Springs, CO on Wednesday, April 04, 2012 Installed in a 1998 Chevrolet K Series Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I installed these speakers in my 1998 Chevy Silverado Extended Cab to go with the Alpine CDE-124SXM deck and Alpine KTP-445 powerpack. 5 out of 5 Alpine speakers in a Jeep Written By JP, Boston, ma on Saturday, March 03, 2012 Installed in a 1998 Jeep Wrangler Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) My 98 Wrangler had stock audio throughout until I swapped the stock speakers for these Alpines. Yes | No
5 out of 5 Alpine SPS-510 Written By SneakySh0rty, Baltimore, MD on Friday, February 10, 2012 Installed in a 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Installed them into my 03 Subaru WRX. 5 out of 5 WoW Written By tRu, Los Angeles, CA on Tuesday, August 02, 2011 Installed in a 2004 Cadillac CTS Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I am running these off my stock system in my 2004 cadillac cts and wow what a difference it made!. The only thing that i found a little funny was that the basket for the speakers is plastic and not metal like ones ive used in that past, but it does make them really light so thats nice too. And as always Crutchfield gets A+ for there great customer support. 2 out of 2 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No
5 out of 5 Great upgrade! Written By Craig N. Heon, Alfred, ME on Monday, July 11, 2011 Installed in a 2007 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I bought these as the first part to my multi-part soundsystem upgrade in my 2007 Subaru Impreza. The stock system is junk. I put these in with ease and there was an instant and very noticeable upgrade in quality. I am next going to replace the rear speakers and replace the headunit. Even with just these, it's made my long commute more bearable because the quality is so much better! 2 out of 2 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No
5 out of 5 Speaker product & installation review Written By Lou V, Branchburg, NJ on Friday, May 20, 2011 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I expected the speakers to be great, which they are. The help on the installation is what really impressed me. I was unsure about how to remove the interior panels on my Corvette before installing the Alpine SPS-510 speakers. I called the "800" number and the service tech emailed me the instructions immediately. I proceeded to do the installation, which came out great. 4 out of 5 Alpine SPS-510 Written By CC, Conroe, TX on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Speakers sound great. The fit nice and were eay to install. The only problem is the speakers don't come with grills. Major problem if they are going to be installed in an area where they might get damages. The only catch.....Crutchfield does not sell the grill. You have to go online and buy from somebody else. 9 out of 11 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No
