Simple. Aesthetically pleasing. And powerful.
Make it easy to set up, build it with versatility and durability in mind, and make it sound fantastic.
Not the easiest assignment, but it's clear the design team at Definitive Technology had this mission in mind from the start when imagining the SoloCinema XTR. Oh, and they didn't forget the importance of good looks, either. The sleek, slender sound bar and the surprisingly slim wireless subwoofer fit unobtrusively into almost any decor scheme. It's evident that Definitive Technology's priorities are front and center.
Let's start with the ultra-rigid, precision-machined aluminum enclosure. Custom designed stiffing ribs and channels help to minimize unwanted resonances that might interfere with your musical enjoyment. Three aluminum dome tweeters add realism, definition, and air to your sound. Six patent-pending XTDD aluminum dome midrange drivers, originally designed for Definitive Technologies award-winning full-size loudspeakers, have been re-imagined to be unbelievably compact while still delivering rich, lifelike sound. And every driver has its own digital amplifier — the unit has no crossovers, reducing any distortion opportunities to a minimum. Combine this with an authoritative, slim-design 8" wireless subwoofer and you have a recipe for surround-sound nirvana.

Better sound from your Blu-rays
Use the HDMI connection on the SoloCinema XTR to get uncompromised fidelity from your Blu-ray entertainment. That's what lossless encoding/decoding formats like Dolby® TrueHD and DTS-HD™ offer the viewer. And unlike nearly all of the competition in this category, the SoloCinema XTR has built-in decoding for those soundtracks. Combine that approach with Definitive's patented Definitive Spatial Array™ technology, and you have a two-piece, room-friendly, audiophile-grade surround sound solution that can sound as good (if not better) than a rack full of individual components — while creating the convincing illusion of being surrounded by a room full of high-end speakers.
Note: the direct HDMI connection from your Blu-ray player to the SoloCinema XTR is required in order to pass the full lossless signal to your sound bar.
One-cable connections
Most of the time, one cable can take care of digital connections to TVs, Blu-ray players, streaming video devices, cable/satellite boxes and game consoles. Three HDMI connections plus one optical digital connection stand ready to integrate these devices and more. And a traditional analog audio RCA stereo input is present for "old school" sources.
Made for relaxation
Welcome refinements like Dolby® Volume help maximize your TV watching enjoyment. Set the volume to a level that's comfortable and immersive, then watch as it stays constant, even when the network sport action promos fill the commercial break. And the included, cleverly-designed ergonomic remote lets you control your SoloCinema XTR easily from your viewing location.
