Our take on the iDatalink Connec ADS-HRN(SX)-ALL01 Cable
Keep your SYNC system with a new Kenwood GPS receiver
iDatalink's Maestro ADS-HRN(SX)-ALL01 cable connects the Maestro RR module to select Kenwood receivers, allowing the Kenwood receiver to perform all the functions of the factory SYNC system in select Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, and Mazda vehicles. It works with these Kenwood models: DDX370, DNX5190, DNX6190HD, DNX6990HD, DNX7190HD, and DNX9990HD.
Here's how it works
First, you connect the Maestro module to your PC using the included USB cable, visit www.idatalink.com/maestro, and follow the instructions. Once the unit has been "flashed," it's ready to go. Next, you'll either solder or crimp the iDatalink Ford harness (ADS-HRN(SR)-FOR01) to your Kenwood receiver's wiring, just like you would with any Crutchfield wiring harness or wiring adapter. Finally, you use this Kenwood cable to finish connecting the Maestro RR module to the Kenwood receiver.
You'll enjoy the outstanding performance of your Kenwood DVD or GPS receiver, plus seamless touchscreen control over your SYNC system, including the factory Bluetooth, satellite radio (in most vehicles), steering wheel audio controls, and other great features. SYNC will still talk to you, and all your factory voice controls will work as they did before.
Retain steering wheel controls, too
The RR module also allows you to use your Ford's steering wheel audio controls with the Kenwood receiver. Using the intuitive web programming interface, each factory button can be assigned a specific radio function. Better yet, you can also assign a secondary "press and hold" radio function to each factory button, effectively doubling what can be controlled.
Installation Notes: If your Ford factory radio also houses the satellite radio tuner, you will not be able to retain SiriusXM reception once this harness is installed. Check iDatalink's flash demo to find out if you'll retain your factory satellite radio tuner, and to see which other factory features will still be available.
