Driver Technology
Tweeter: The Bravo 20 uses
Boston's 1" VR aluminum dome tweeter with AMD (Amplitude Modification
Device). This tweeter uses a specially anodized aluminum dome. Compared to a soft dome, aluminum is equally light, yet more
rigid. Compared to other hard dome materials, an aluminum dome is unrivaled in
its ability to accurately track the input signal. AMD is used
to further optimize the aluminum dome's output, without taking anything away.
AMD is a patented acoustical tuning device that uses precisely sized hollow
tubes positioned in front of the tweeter to refocus short wavelength energy and
create an extremely smooth, flat response. This is done without using elaborate
electronic components that can degrade the sound's purity.
Woofer: The Bravo 20 has a 4-1/2" copolymer woofer that's
built from the ground up for this speaker. A rubber surround is used for added
durability.
Bass Management: When setting
bass management parameters on your home theater receiver, the outputs for this
speaker should be
set to Small.
Enclosure Design
ABS Cabinet: The Boston Acoustic Bravo 20's cabinet is made from
textured ABS with a matching metal grill (detachable). The speaker is available
in a black or white finish.
Bass Reflex Enclosure: The Bravo 20 employs a bass reflex (ported)
enclosure with a front-firing port. The ported enclosure adds to the full sound
of the speaker by increasing efficiency.
Connections
Binding Posts: The wire
terminals are spring-posts, allowing you to connect the speaker wire
using pin connectors
or bare wire. Bare wire up to 12
gauge fits through the spring loaded posts. The binding post are color-coded for
easy identification between positive (red) and negative (black).
Mounting Options
Wall Mounting Brackets: The
Bravo 20 includes a wall mounting bracket which can be positioned vertically or
horizontally. The body of the speaker is essentially one quarter of a cylinder
so it can be mounted vertically, recessed into a corner, or horizontally at the
junction of the wall and ceiling. The bracket can also be mounted perpendicular
to the wall anywhere in the room. Mounting hardware is included. The large
rectangular hole in the middle of the wall-bracket will fit a single gang
electrical outlet to route the speaker wire through a conduit.
Tabletop Mounting: Included with the Bravo 20 are four
self-adhesive rubber feet which allows the speaker to sit vertically on any flat
surface (such as a table or shelf.) Also, included
with the Bravo 20 is a rear bracket stand which allows the speaker to sit
horizontally on a flat surface. When the rear bracket stand is removed, the Bravo
20 tilts up at a 45° angle (when placed horizontal).
