Overview: The NuForce S3-BT is an active loudspeaker featuring
Bluetooth wireless connectivity with aptX for high-fidelity
sound reproduction. It also includes stereo analog inputs for your non-Bluetooth
devices and a USB charging port for your smartphone or tablet. The S3-BT's
compact bookshelf size fits almost any room or decor. The speaker cabinet is
wrapped in an elegant soft black or white leatherette (with black cloth
grilles).
Two-Way Speaker Design: Each NuForce S3-BT Bluetooth speaker features
a custom 1" soft-dome silk tweeter that offers a smooth and natural response, and a
3.5" composite paper cone woofer with rubber surround which is constructed using a proprietary
"anti-resonance" cone technique and powerful magnet assembly. The

Digital Amplifier: The NuForce S3-BT's right speaker employs an
efficient Class-D amplifier (18 watt x 2 channel) which powers all drivers in
the left & right speaker for clear, detailed sound and low power consumption.
Bluetooth Version 4.0:
The NuForce S3-BT is Bluetooth v4.0 certified
and supports wireless audio playback (AD2P) and control (AVRCP) of
Bluetooth-enabled audio devices; such as your Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad, Android
smartphone/tablet, computer/laptop, and digital audio/MP3 player. Basic playback
functions include - Play/Pause and Previous/Next Track.
Bluetooth aptX Codec: Bluetooth aptX, which is featured on a
growing number of Android mobile devices as well as MacBooks and Apple desktop
computers, allows audio to be broadcast wirelessly in significantly higher
quality than over standard Bluetooth. You'll instantly notice more extensive
dynamic range, deeper bass, and crystal-clear top end. Standard Bluetooth has an
extremely variable performance and its weaknesses are very apparent to music
lovers. Common complaints include a reduction in high-end clarity, muddiness or
dullness in the midrange, and its reduced signal-to-noise ratio can cause
listener fatigue. Conversely, Bluetooth aptX has a fixed performance standard to
guarantee a consistently high-quality wireless music transfer. With almost
CD-quality reproduction to offer, you'll instantly experience significantly
greater dynamics and infinitely more detail from your favorite music.
Compatible Music Sources: The range of music available from
today's iPods, smartphones, laptops, and computers is almost endless. In
addition to music stored on your iPod, smartphone, tablet or computer; online
music services like
Pandora,
iHeart Radio,
Spotify, Last FM,
Rhapsody,
SiriusXM, and
of course other internet radio sources can be wirelessly transmitted to the
NuForce S3-BT.
SPP (Secure Simple Pairing): With Secure Simple Pairing
(SSP), you can easily pair a Bluetooth enabled device to the NuForce S3-BT
without having to enter pin codes or go through complicated settings. When a
registered Bluetooth device is in close proximity to the powered speaker, the
auto connection function automatically pairs the two units. Multiple
Bluetooth-compatible devices can be registered, but only one device can be used
at a time. Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth
enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all
features when used with the NuForce S3-BT.
Analog Inputs:
The S3-BT's right speaker is fitted with stereo RCA inputs for
connecting an external audio device, which is not Bluetooth-enabled. The stereo
analog inputs can also be used for upgrading to the NuForce Air DAC wireless
system (773AIRDAC,
sold separately) offering even more outstanding audiophile grade audio
performance.
Binding Posts:
The amplified right speaker is equipped with
binding-post speaker output terminals, while the passive left speaker is
equipped with binding-post speaker input terminals. A 10' length of speaker wire is included to
connect the two speakers.
Top-Panel Controls:
The amplified right speaker features top-panel
controls. Control include - Source (Bluetooth/Line-in), Play/Pause,
Previous/Next Track, Volume Up/Down. The main power switch is located on the
rear-panel of the amplified right speaker.
USB Charging Port:
The amplified right speaker's USB type-A charging port
(5V/1A) lets you charge your mobile device via a USB cable.
