Features
Overview: This is a portable AM/FM/NOAA Weather Radio. The
FR360 can be powered by five different sources; an AC adapter (optional), three
"AAA" batteries (not included), the rechargeable Ni-MH battery (included),
the hand crank on the left side, or using Solar power. The hand crank provides
emergency power. The unit also has a built-in light.
AM/FM Channels: The FR360 receives AM (520-1710 kHz) and FM
(87.5-108 MHz) stations.
Weather Channels: This radio allows you to select any of the
seven NOAA weather broadcast channels. These broadcasts are found in the public
service frequency band, and include 162.400MHz (Channel 1), 162.425MHz (Channel
2), 162.450MHz (Channel 3), 162.475MHz (Channel 4), 162.500MHz (Channel 5),
162.525MHz (Channel 6), and 162.550MHz (Channel 7).
NOAA Alert: This function turns off the radio, but continues
to monitor the NOAA frequency. If an alert is broadcast, it turns back on, enabling
you to hear the alert broadcast.
Antenna: This AM antenna in built into the radio. The 6.5"
telescoping antenna covers FM bands.
Clock with Alarm: The unit features a built-in 12/24-hour clock
with a built-in alarm.
Sleep Timer: The sleep timer can be activated with the ratio
turn on or off. Activating the sleep timer enables the radio to play for 90, 60,
30, or 10 minutes then shuts off automatically.
Light: The built-in light has two modes; two white LEDs stay
lit constantly to serve as a flash light, or a single red LED flashes as a beacon.
Headphones: On the back of the radio is a 3.5mm (1/8")
headphone jack.
Audio-In Jack: The unit features a rear-panel 3.5mm (1/8")
audio-input for connecting an external audio component.
Cell Phone Charger: The phone charger output (USB type-A) is
also on the back or the radio. Phone specific adapters are available directly from
etón. You can charge your cell phone using the hand crank.
Note: Currently (December 2011) etón
doesn't claim iPod or iPhone charging compatibility in the
manual or on their web site.
Battery: The rechargeable Ni-MH battery capacity is 600 mAh
at 3.6 volts DC. It can be recharged by the optional AC adapter (sold separately)
or the hand crank.
