Features
Overview: The Sony SAL1680Z is a Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* DT16-80mm F3.5-4.5 ZA mid-range zoom lens designed for use with Sony A-mount cameras. Its 16-80mm focal length range is equivalent to 24-120mm in 35mm photography, which allows you to use this versatile lens almost exclusively for day-to-day shooting.
Compatibility: The lens is compatible with Sony interchangeable lens digital cameras. Since it is a DT lens, it is designed for use with cameras with an APS-C image sensor.
Carl Zeiss T* Coating: The SAL1680Z lens features the patented Carl Zeiss T* (T-Star) coating that virtually eliminates the lens flare, internal reflection, and light scattering that can occur at glass-to-air surfaces.
ED Glass: The SAL 1680Z has Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass elements for superior contrast and resolution throughout the image, even at large aperture settings.
Circular Aperture: The lens is equipped with a circular aperture which provides smooth, natural defocusing. Standard lens apertures appear as a flat-sided polygon, which results in the familiar polygonal out-of-focus highlights, seen in many photos.
Lens Hood: The lens comes with the SH0005 lens hood which helps prevent lens flare. When installed, the lens hood adds approximately 1-1/4" to the overall length of the lens. The hood can be stored on the lens by installing it backwards.
Lens Case: A padded, black vinyl lens case is included with the lens. It has a draw-string closure at the top of the pouch to secure the lens in the case.
