Rockford Fosgate designed the Punch P1692 6"x9" speakers as a high-grade replacement for your factory speakers. Each speaker features a responsive polypropylene cone and butyl rubber surround that'll stand up to hours of high-volume jams. Rockford Fosgate uses a new technique to attach the surround to the cone that yields up to 25% more cone area, for fuller sound and stronger performance. The dome tweeter provides clear, extended highs that can hold their own when the bass gets heavy.

Note: The oversized terminals on these speakers won't connect to a Crutchfield wiring harness. We recommend that you buy a 10-pack of female quick slides that you can splice onto our harness.

    Features

    Injection-Molded Polypropylene Woofers: The woofer cones are mineral filled, injection-molded polypropylene. This molding process assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. It is also light weight and rigid for decreased distortion and improved bass response.

    Butyl Rubber Surrounds: The butyl rubber surrounds dampen unwanted harmonic distortion while maintaining linear geometry under extreme weather conditions. This leads to less distortion, superior frequency response, and superior durability.

    VAST Surround: The Vertical Attach Surround Technique (VAST) increases a speaker's effective radiating cone area without increasing the size of the basket.

    Tweeters: Each speaker features a 3/4" PEI (Poly-Ether-Imide) dome tweeter; PEI is a polymer film that produces a wide soundstage for superior imaging.

    Speaker Terminals: These speakers have 0.25" wide positive (+) terminals and 0.187" wide negative (-) terminals, which are too large for the vehicle-specific speaker harnesses supplied by Crutchfield for many vehicle applications. It is recommended that a pack of assorted female quick slides (item # 263FQS10PK) be purchased and spliced to the harnesses to adapt them to the speaker terminals.

    These are amazing speakers for the price. Instant upgrade over stock 6x9 in my 2009 Maxima. They provide a good amount of bass for any stock system. I now have them hooked up to an Alpine MRX-V70 amplifier, and they sound even better!! Great speaker for the price.

    I am extremely pleased with these speakers AND Crutchfield. Purchasing these speakers were my first experience with Crutchfield. The reviews are accurate and the people are GREAT.     Prior to installing new 6x9 speakers I placed just the grills up to the 7 1/4 x 10 1/4 RV cabinet face the stock 6 1/2 round speakers had been. Too big! Grill ODs not published on Crutchfield or mfg's website so if this is a concern for you take a trip to a brick & mortar to measure speakers you are considering. I returned these and went with Infinity XRef 6502s. As always Crutchfield was a joy to work with!

    It took many years to wear out the first pair of the same Rock "92"s, bought at Crutchfield. Some serious power moved through those puppies! Great performance throughout powered by a Kenwood amp and installed on the rear deck. Look forward to the same from this pair. Nice to feel that same BIG magnet underneath the speaker chasis when installing. Give Rock's power, they deliver.
    Pros:
    All. Odd connectors for the wires, but Crutchfield sent the stuff to make it easy.

    These Rockford Fosgates, JL Audio TR600-CXi speakers and JVC Arsenal KDAHD65 receiver replaced the factory stereo in a Honda Accord 4-de LX. The Fosgates went in the rear deck. This new system is a vast improvement over the factory stereo. The Fosgates produce sufficient bass for my taste. The sound is more full-bodied, bass and drums are tight, not booming. I had them professionally installed and understand there was no modification needed in the install.
    Pros:
    Vast improvement over the factory 5" rear deck speakers. More pronounced, tight bass, much clearer reproduction of mids and highs.
    Cons:
    None. Am very happy with them.

    I Installed these in my Buick regal because my other rear deck speakers were blown. I wanted some speakers with good bass and clear sound but not too pricey. They have great sound crystal clear and the bass only on some songs that i play via my iPod have awesome bass. My friend was in my car and he thought i got some subs. When there's a good bass song they really kick and vibrate the whole car its awesome. I'm not a huge bass head but i do like some and they doo a great job. For installing them i had some problems and had to tweak some things in my car but in the end they pit just fine. I highly reccomend these to anyone that wants crystal clear speakers and bass a step below having subwoofers.

    Bittersweet

    I installed these in a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the front door location to replace the blown factory Infinity System. I had high hopes for these, and they satisfied some needs while leaving me underwhelmed and unhappy in others. The quality of the speakers seemed top notch when I received them, and after comparing them to the Infinity factory speakers, they looked like they would perform much better. However, looks mean very little, and these speakers were a step below the factory system in most areas. Right away I noticed that they were not as loud as the stock speakers, requiring me to turn the radio up a bit higher than usual. They produced a very clear and focused sound, and the tweeters really shined when reproducing high end sound. The woofers themselves were the bad part, as they put out a lot less bass than the stock speakers, and overall lacked a lot of the punch that I used to hear in my car. Overall, a very average sounding set of speakers that seem to be priced a bit high for what they sound like. Put out a nice clean sound that unfortunately for me was subpar to the factory speakers

    Clean sound, great high end from tweeters. Good materials
    Cons:
    Only average bass output at best, not as efficient as infinity factory speakers

    Great Speakers

    When i first bought these speakers i put them in the back of my dodge dakota club cab. I was not expecting huge bass response from these but what they were producing in the back of my truck was less than adequete. A couple of weeks later i pulled them out and stuck them in a box and my friends ask what size subs i have. They have great bass and great treble and mids. I have them run off a jl audio amp with 75 watts rms running to each speaker. I would purchase these again in the future.

    Very nice product! When you factor in the price they are excellent. Much better materials than MBQuart Discus line that they replaced. With deeper and tighter bass response and much smoother mids and highs (attribute the later to separate drivers for each). They look and sound very solid and with good amp power can really play loud and more importantly stay tight and focused.

    I would not run these with head unit power as they sound much better and require more watts

    Boom - nuff said.
    Pros:
    Awesome, full range sound with lots of bass.
    Cons:
    Speaker posts were too wide for the connectors Crutchfield sent - and I didn't want to force them because once they break - they're toast - so I had to go buy bigger connectors and crimp them down - not the most secure connection. Wish they were screw down or but connectors.

    Great speakers. Good quality with large magnets. These rear 6x9's really sound great in my 2011 Toyota corolla.
    Pros:
    Quality. Instruction manual is decent.
    Cons:
    Had to drill new holes in rear deck to mount the speakers. The self tapping screws that are included from RF have a Allen wrench head that is irregular. Therefore you have use the bit that RF includes to anchor the screws. This made install very tedious.

    They sound great, but the factory radio didn't allow them to shine as they are not quite as efficient as the factory speakers. However after replacing the radio too, they really sound great. The small Alpine radio has 18watts and that is enough to bring out the bass.

    O.K. 2011 Dodge Ram Quad Cab

    I initaly bought these speakers to replace the rear 6"x9" in the back doors of my truck. There is a small amount of trimming needed to get these speaker flush. I gave them 3 weeks of heavy abuse and they really just never "came alive". I was powering the speakers with a 4- Channel Pioneer Premier 50x4 RMS at a 0db gain. I decided to give them another chance in my wife's 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix. They were a moderate gain in sound quality, powered off of the factory head unit. Overall I give these Speaker's a 3 Star rating only because of the $$PRICE and that they did not perform in the Dodge Ram Quad Cab, I obtained a much better sound from a $40.00 pair of 6x9"s.

    They Look Great and Powerful!
    Cons:
    Not a good pairing in the 2009-2011 Dodge Ram. Factory speaker seem better

    Installed in a 2004 Dodge intrepid. Rockford Fosgate Punch P1692 used for back speakers sound great with a Sony CDX-GT565UP head. Used Polk Audio DXi 650s in the front door speakers. For around $300-$350 dollars, I don't think you can beat this system. My daughter couldn't be happier. And I couldn't be happier with Crutchfield's team!
    Pros:
    Great sound. Good clarity with a solid bottom end.
    Cons:
    Tough to get to the back speakers of a 2004 dodge intrepid. Whole backseat must come out.

    I just installed these in a 2000 Nissan Xterra. They sound nice, many times better than the factory speakers and not bad for something I paid this much for. However, they absolutely do NOT fit the Xterra rear panel area! They are too deep by about 1/4". I ripped apart the factory speakers to use the plastic edging as a spacer. It got the depth acceptable, but then they stuck out too far and interfered with the interior paneling. I ended up having to dremel a big hole and use the R-F grilles to make it work. I also had a hard time finding mounting hardware that worked and cobbled something together using the R-F screws and the back nuts from the front speakers! If the truck was newer, I would've been mad and returned them, but since it is old I'm not too concerned about the clunky look. If you have a 2000 Xterra, don't believe that these fit without some serious modifications!
    Pros:
    Sound nice for the price. The 4 stars are just for this aspect.
    Cons:
    Don't fit my car at all despite Crutchfield's indication that they fit w/o any extra mounting pieces. If I was just rating this part, it'd be 0 stars.
