Our take on the Infinity ERS 110DT

No room for speakers? No problem. Infinity's ERS 110DT in-ceiling speaker, sold individually, lets you enjoy rich, dynamic sound without taking up a single inch of floor space. The speaker installs directly in your ceiling, and features a paintable frame and grille, so it will virtually vanish into your decor. And thanks to the ERS 110DT's innovative design, you get stereo sound from just one speaker. It's ideal for areas where installing a pair of stereo speakers isn't practical, like a hallway, bathroom, or kitchen.

The ERS 110DT has inputs for both left and right channels and two 3/4" tweeters (one per channel), so you'll hear both halves of the stereo music mix. And a 6-1/2" woofer with dual voice coils handles the mids and bass. All of the drivers are made with Infinity's exclusive Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm (C.M.M.D.™) material. C.M.M.D. woofers and tweeters are stiff yet responsive for warm, resonance-free performance across the entire audio spectrum. It's the same driver material used on Infinity's flagship Prelude™ loudspeakers, costing thousands of dollars a pair.

The ERS 110DT is designed for easy installation. It features mounting clamps that swing out and securely grip your ceiling from the inside. An optional in-ceiling bracket is recommended for installing the ERS 110DT in a new home under construction (or in a room that's undergoing major renovation).

Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm (C.M.M.D.): Infinity's C.M.M.D. technology delivers accurate performance with dramatically reduced distortion for incredibly lifelike sound. Additionally, the C.M.M.D. drivers can withstand extreme temperatures, moisture, humidity and sunlight.

Woofer: The 6 1/2" C.M.M.D. dual-voice coil cone woofer virtually eliminates coloration due to cone flexing, resulting in less distortion and superior accuracy. For a smoother response and improved durability, the woofer uses a rubber surround.

Tweeters: The speaker has dual 3/4" C.M.M.D. dome tweeters that offer superior stiffness and damping compared to traditional metal domes.

Waveguide Design: The ERS 110DT incorporates a proprietary waveguide design to ensure smooth distribution of sound throughout the listening area.

Mounting Options

Installation: The round shape and flush-design allow the ERS 110DT to mimic the look of a recessed lighting fixture. This speaker is a single stereo speaker which makes it a perfect install in bathrooms, hallways, and any other area where you do not have room, or the desire, to install more than one speaker. The speaker requires a cutout diameter of 8.066" and a depth of 3.519" (including the thickness of the drywall). Once the hole is cut, the speaker can be dropped in and the locking tabs can be tightened, allowing you to secure the speaker to the drywall without any extra assembly.

Note: For new construction, you will need to purchase the optional rough-in-frame kit (item 108IW6RRIF).

Paintable: The grille and flange can be painted, allowing this speaker to match any decor.
