Evolution™ TR speakers come in a wide range of sizes so you can improve the sound in almost any vehicle.

JL Audio's TR600-CXi 6-1/2" speakers use mica-filled long-excursion polypropylene woofers for enhanced low-frequency response that'll really fill out your drums and bass. The 1/2" woven textile dome tweeters broadcast all the little details that bring your music to life. Ferrofluid cooled tweeters and butyl rubber surrounds mean that these speakers will bring you great music for many years to come.

Note: JL Audio describes this model as a 6" speaker. Most manufacturers designate this same frame size as a 6-1/2" speaker. For simplicity's sake we list it as a 6-1/2" speaker.

Features

Woofers: The JL Audio Evolution TR-series coaxial speakers feature injection-molded, mica-filled polypropylene cone woofers with 1" voice coils and flat-profile, symmetrical-roll spiders. The woofers use butyl rubber surrounds for reliability and strength.

Tweeters: The speakers have 1/2" treated textile dome tweeters with an integral phase plug and powerful, ferro-fluid cooled and damped neodymium magnets.

Crossovers: The TR-series coaxials use electrolytic capacitors on the 1st order high-pass filters. The woofer is unfiltered, using its engineered smooth roll-off characteristics to blend with its tweeter.

Grilles: Two black metal mesh grilles and black ABS plastic grille frames are included with the speakers.

Good overall, nice to have the tweeters with the woofer blends well and easier to install than separates.
Pros:
Good sound and build quality
Cons:
May be a little under powered, at 50 watts RMS they seemed a little stretched. Currently I'm powering them at around 30 RMS and they sound great.

Love these speakers, however I have always been a JL fan. Crutchfield has stated that they would not fit the back door, but with a little work these babies fit like a glove. I purchased them to complement a JL component set I installed in the front doors, and they did just that, cleaned up the overall sound. I am currently running these off a Pioneer HU and am pleased, I may consider a 4-channel amp for the entire set-up one day. As for now they sound great!

Simple install, quick and easy fit. Sound good pushed by the Pioneer HU.

These JL Audios replaced the factory 5" car door speakers in a '95 Honda Accord LX sedan. I had them professionally installed and am happy with the vast improvement in sound reproduction. Highs and mids are clearer, more realistic.
Pros:
No modification needed in installation. Better sound than the factory speakers.
Cons:
None. Am happy with them.

Great set of speakers to top off your system, i have a JVC KD-s100 deck, two JL10w1's, and a rockford fosgate T-400 amp, my pickup had the stock infinity system from dodge with a factory amp and those speakers were good, i blew a door speaker and was looking to replace without breaking the bank. i was a little leery at first just because they werent top of the line speakers, as well as replacing a 6X9 with a 6 round but after installation i was extremely suprised, i wasnt looking for bass in my door speakers because the subs over power any mid anyways, but the clarity of the speaker is outstanding. even with the volume really high and all the mirrors shaking from the bass, these speakers kept up and were crystal clear. once again, Crutchfield did a great job with shipping and their technical support was really helpful. i would highly recommend these speakers to anyone who is trying to add a little more clarity to top off their system, without paying a ton of money.

These speakers are simply outstanding. I installed a set of these in the front doors of
my 6th gen Honda Civic, powered by a Crunch P1 amplifier. All around they're a perfect
speaker, and certainly worth the price. I've owned these for over a month and I don't have
a single complaint regarding them. They really are profound speakers. They're crisp,
clean and certainly worth every penny; perfect for the enthusiast. Don't allow the other
reviews fool you. No 6 1/2'' speaker, no matter how amazing they're acclaimed to be, are
going to put out an impressive amount of bass. In fact, most speakers have built-in high
pass filters (HPF), which filter out a lot of the bass, giving you crisp highs and clean
mids. This makes it so that the lows accompany the highs and mids, and don't
overpower them, especially in songs that have a lot of bass. If you are looking for a lot of
bass, invest in a subwoofer.

Disappointment

I bought these speakers to replace the factory units. The factory speakers had nice bass and highs but never real crisp. The JLs have very little bass. I have a Sony Xplod stereo that replaced the factory stereo. I expected these speakers to be the whole package and make the already great sounding Sony better. They do not. The mids and highs are great however.
The truck came with the RBN stereo and a search of the 2003 Dodge Ram Factory Service Manual did not reveal an amplifier associated with the RBN.

Bought these speakers on a Friday afternoon, they arrived Monday while I was at work(FREE SHIPPING FTW). I got to my house at 10:40pm that night, at 11:40pm I had installed the speakers completely. This was the first time I had ever upgraded my speakers or anyone else's (for that matter). Crutchfield made it abundantly easy to install my speakers. The package contained all the mounting brackets and cables with step by step instructions making it incredibly easy to install. I was going to have a "professional" business do it and it was going to cost and extra $70! Ladies and gentlemen, Crutchfield is the way to go!

Overall I'm very happy with these speakers. They're a HUGE improvement over the ones that came with my Toyota 4-Runner(Which had no mids whatsoever). These speakers bang out the tunes like I would expect. The car could still benefit highly from a decent subwoofer...but these speakers met my expectations.

Overall these are pretty good speakers. They have a very clean sound, with nice mid's and high's. To be honest, I was hoping to get a little better bass response from them. But they are just 6 1/2's and you shouldn't expect excessive bass from these (or any other 6 1/2's for that matter). They do get very loud though with no noticable distortion. I would recommend these to anyone looking to upgrade their sound over lower quality or stock speakers.
