Features
High Efficiency: The high-efficiency design of the Klipsch
in-wall speakers allows you to get much more output than most in-wall and
in-ceiling speakers. Due to the long speaker wire runs that are common in
whole-house audio systems, the power coming from the amplifier is significantly
reduced by the time it reaches the speakers. The 91dB efficiency of this speaker
means it will play much louder at low power than other less-efficient speakers.
Two-Way Design: The Klipsch R-2502-W II uses a high-quality
1" silk dome compression driver (tweeter) mated to a conical horn, combined with
dual 5.25" polypropylene woofers in a 2-way design. The speaker's precision voiced
crossover networks further ensure that the high and low frequencies are
faithfully reproduced.
- Tweeter: A 1" silk dome tweeter mated to a pivoting conical horn
generates pinpoint imaging and flat in-room frequency response. Klipsch
horn-loaded technology increases acoustic output while significantly
reducing distortion. The horn's 90° x 90° dispersion pattern allows the
speaker to maintain the same high-frequency directivity whether the speaker
is mounted vertically or horizontally (as a center). More direct sounds
reach the main listening area with fewer reflections for more detailed
sound, wider dynamics and better vocal clarity
- Dual Woofers: The R-2502-W II employs dual 5.25" polypropylene
woofer cones for authoritative bass.
ABS Basket/Frame: The R-2502-W II has a sturdy ABS basket
and frame. The frame can be painted to match any decor.
SlimTrim Magnetic Grille: With an all new grille, the
visible frame size is reduced by 90% and grille depth is reduced by 80% over the
previous design, for a more edge-to-edge consistent look that blends in with the
wall more attractively. The new aluminum, paintable, magnetic grille attaches
tightly and securely with ease to virtually eliminate resonant distortion.
Spring-Post Terminals: The Klipsch R-2502-W II in-wall speaker features
two spring post terminals which will accept bare speaker wire (up to 12-AWG), pin-connectors
or banana plugs (single/dual). The spring-post speaker terminals are color-coded (red/black)
for easy identification between positive and negative.
Power Specifications Note: The manufacturer has specified the maximum
power handling of this speaker as 60 watts RMS (240 W Peak). Klipsch has also
published a recommended amplifier power specification as 110 watts. For the
purpose of matching the speaker with the best amplifier, Crutchfield is listing
the power specification as 110 watts.
Mounting Options
Dual Orientation: This in-wall speaker consistently delivers
realistic sound whether it's installed vertically as a left or right channel
speaker, or horizontally as a center channel speaker.
New Or Pre-Existing Installation: The speaker can be installed in new or existing
construction. It requires a cutout of
6.5" (w) x 16.4375" (h), with a mounting
depth of 3.25". For new construction,
purchase of the IK-502-W installation kit (714IK502W) is highly recommended. For
existing construction, the speaker should be installed in drywall at least 3/8"
thick. A cardboard template
is included to assist you in making the cutout.
IR Knockout: A 1/2" diameter knockout panel is provided in
the lower left hand corner of the speaker frame for installing an IR sensor.
