About me

I have been with Crutchfield for over 5 years now, and I am a member of the A/V Design Group. Also, I am Cedia (for home) and MECP (for car) certified. I must confess that I am a "gadget junkie" so to speak. I have been into high quality audio, and then video equipment since a young teen. I guess my dad is partially to blame for that. Thanks Dad!...lol. I was spoiled listening to his Mcintosh separates, Tandberg tape deck, Yahama monitors, some high end turntable, and other components I can't remember the name of. I really enjoyed going to the high end audio shops, listening, and learning about the gear, and still do today.

Later in life got into computers. It's been over fifteen years now and I still find them a challenge. I spent about five years selling, repairing, and upgrading computers for another major electronics retailer as well as selling A/V gear. Later on, I got into networking and building computers. Being the designated tech support guy for my family forces me to keep up to date and keeps me on my toes.

Music and movies still remain one of my passions. I have a built up a collection of movies and music over the years including some SACD's, and DVD-Audio discs which are always a joy to listen to. I love the good old jam band music, as well as most Blues, Jazz, and other types of music. I like all different types of movies but my all time favorite has to be Scarface. I love those gangster movies like The Godfather and Goodfellas.

My HD Tivo for Directv is one of my favorite pieces that I own. I love being able to record shows in HD and watch them when it's convenient for me. Does anyone really watch live TV anymore? ;)
